Came home today and Dad was super excited. He requested two voucher coupon things from our lovely government to help purchase the new digital converter boxes (DCB’s) and they arrived today. I still am not sure why we need them as we have the super deluxe package from Cox Communications, but none the less, Dad is happy. I think it is more out of principle that he beat the deadline and I am sure we will end up purchasing two of them just because we can. He was mentioning some sort of emergency setup so when the power goes out we can connect the DCB to his portable TV and then run that off of a battery operated power supply. This, I will have to take a picture of…perhaps we can put it all nicely in some kind of backpack system.

Big night on blogging. It is now my last official year of my 20’s. I turned 29 today, January 23rd. Everyone tells me that the 30’s are the best, I wonder if they say the same about the 40’s when you are 39? I feel my 20’s were very successful for me personally. Learned a lot about life and really got my career rolling by the early 20’s. I guess you could say I feel satisfied and am looking forward to the future. Thank you to everybody that has always been there for me.

Now onto the fun part, the present! My Dad got me this really beautiful watch for my birthday and gave it to me a day early so I could wear it at the Patron Dinner. I have never had a watch like this and I really am enjoying it. It is heavy, all metal, and is a true chronograph…which is pretty damn sexy. mmmm hhhhhmmm!

My Birthday Present from Dad - Sweet!

This weekend is absoultely amazing here in Santa Barbara. It pretty much feels like summer and is FANTASTIC!!! Been really nice for walking along the beach or cruising in the mountains. Today, I took Dad out for a ride and we ended going up the 154. Stopped at Bradbury Dam Observation Point and got some sunshine. Dad even wanted to go down a trail (I am amazed)…had a good time out in nature. I am usually not big on leaving the life for drywall and electricity, but it was actually nice. I think the big difference that made it nice today was there were no annoying bugs because it is still winter time. I been out there in the Summer and it is pretty bad. The breeze was so nice today too. Hard to believe it is freezing everywhere else, haha…suckas!!!

Today is my Dad’s 64th birthday. Funny when I was younger, it seemed like 64 was ancient. Now as I get ready to hit my 30’s in a year or so…it really does not seem that big of a number anymore. Dad’s birthday weekend includes some presents this morning, dinner out tonight, and some casino action tomorrow. Got him some headphones and an iTunes gift card…I have turned him pretty tech like me. He has as many gadgets as I do. His other friends in his age group are always impressed with his mad skillz.
